Our work is to connect people to the beauty in the bird world and explain habitat needs of various species - and to encourage folks to plant natives in their backyards for the benefit of migration Neotropicals.  We provide field trips for schools and camp groups and tours for garden and women's clubs.  Our program, "Meet the Other Birds in Your Yard," which is largely about migrants, is popular and has been very well received.  Memberships support our efforts and members will receive our biannual newsletter and will also be invited to two events a year on the Sanctuary.

OUR MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE IS AS FOLLOWS:

$25.00 – Chickadee; favorite backyard bird entertains us with its cheerful song, frenetic activity and friendly behavior.

$50.00 – Bluebird; because this beautiful thrush was declining until thousands of nest boxes were put up, it represents the power of human involvement.

$100.00 – Common Yellowthroat; tiny, masked warbler which will nest in even the smallest patch of wetland is an example of how saving a little habitat can mean a lot.

$250.00 – Bobolink; this long distance migrant, whose joyful song bubbles over summer meadows, represents the need to preserve fallow fields.

$500.00 – Piping Plover; the endangered status of this pale, winsome little shorebird is a wake-up call for aiding those species experiencing population declines.

$1000.00 – Loon; conservation for this exquisite bird with the haunting call will require providing quiet places where it can nest undisturbed.
