Northern Michigan Birding Sightings Kiosk
We often receive emails from folks who wish information about the best area and/or season a particular bird or birds may be seen in Michigan or people who are researching a specifc species. Because of the volume of these requests we've created this page to help people to research bird reports in Michigan as we can't keep up with the many requests we receive.

We've created a variety of formats to research. Most of these are tied to the NMB Seasonal Sightings Databases.

Reference the menu to the right.

Michigan Checklist
If you are researching specific species and areas it has been reported in start by viewing the Michigan Checklist. Once on the checklist page, click on the species you wish to research. The checklist has links to the NMB Seasonal Sightings databases along with the total reports for the species in the respective seasons.

NMB Seasonal Sightings Database
The NMB Database stores sighting reports from various Michigan listing servers, message boards, and other sources. You may choose the start your search from the NMB Sightings Database instead of the checklist. The database contains information on the location of particular sightings along with the email addresses of those who reported the sighting.

Focused Sources of Information
1. Special Edition Databases
We've databases for Washtenaw, Berrien, and Bay Counties. These databases are offshoots of the NMB Database. The sightings are tracked to the township level and contain a county map to display the sightings instead of the Michigan map. Use the links below to access the special edition databases.

COUNTY Season Season Season
Berrien Fall 2001 Winter 01-02 Spring 2002

The Copper Country Birding website focus' on the Western Upper Peninsula counties of Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw.
